Complimentary transfers from Malaga airport

Our complimentary transfer service to and from Malaga airport is included in Fishing boat on beach at Playa Fuenta de Piedra the price of your weeks* riding holiday where indicated, subject to the following schedule:

Pick-up from Malaga: Saturdays * 08:30 - 12:00
Return to Malaga: Saturdays * from 08:00

* See separate Long Weekend riding breaks for non Sat arrivals / departures.

Please bear in mind when booking flights that airport transfers are only normally available for the above times and that in order to keep prices down there may be a short wait for later flights - This also aligns with our stance on reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible by not running vehicles inefficiently.

Outside of the above times transfer to and from Malaga airport is available as an optional extra at the following cost:
Malaga - approx €90 per taxi each way. Wherever possible we will coordinate taxi sharing to keep costs down unless requested otherwise. Please see below for other options or contact us to discuss alternatives (e.g. mini bus / coach for larger groups).

Airlines flying to Malaga

You will always get the best flight prices nowadays by booking early - the days of last minute flight bargains are long gone! Here are the main operators flying from the UK to Malaga:

Granada airport

Transfers from Granada airport can be arranged - it too is approx an hour and a half away. Contact us with your proposed flight details for a price.

Bus transfer

Malaga coach station is a €15 (approx) taxi ride from the airport, or there is a shuttle bus running every 30min which costs €1 (approx), but make sure you allow half an hour - if not more - for traffic and buying your bus ticket. The direct route takes 1h 30m, and costs just over €6. Alsa's web site has a drop down box for each route which handily shows the names of the stops plus ETAs, as well as the latest schedules and costs in English (tip - type "MALAGA" and "ALMUNECAR" in capitals).

If you let us know which coach you will be arriving on we will meet you at Almuñécar coach station and transfer you on to your accommodation.

Trains

The trains all terminate at either Malaga or Granada - there are no lines to Almuñécar.

Self drive

Car hire is not required as all your transfers are included (and in peak season free parking places are at a premium around the vicinity of the old town). However, for those wishing to hire a car we offer a 15% discount on Helle Hollis car hire from Malaga airport. In order to obtain your discount simply use the link from this page; please note the discount won't be shown on the on-line booking page, but it will be deducted at the time of payment.

Alternatively, if staying on for a second week, we can easily organise a car locally for you.

If you decide to self drive we will send full details of the route and directions to the hotel with your final confirmation pack, as well as the latest information we have on any road works or diversions which may effect your journey.
